Poetry in Motion is a project born out of an initial collaboration between poet Annette Skade and me (Mundy Walsh, founder of A C H A R A) in December 2025. It took the shape of a short poem on a note set that spoke to the Christmas traditions that bind us.
As a former editor and publisher of a literary journal in Italy, the idea of publishing the words of a poet on a note set, and having the senders words on the other side, made me excited for the potential connections such a combination could spark.
And of course, I am eternally interested in the tangible quality of receiving handwritten words on paper and their potential to reinforce bonds that have perhaps been diluted by time, technology, or many other reasons.
I wanted to continue this exploration and so Poetry in Motion was born. Poems on stationery that evoke traditions, community and treasured relationships; nature, a sense of place, belonging.

POETRY IN MOTION
Every quarter A C H A R A will publish a set of new notes with a poem, and the first call for submissions is in February 2026. I’m looking for poetry that centres around each season (so if you have a poem that might suit a future season, please do send it on). This can be taken as broadly as you like but I’m particularly interested in poetry that speaks about relationships (of all kinds), connection, and/or a sense of place.
The note set will be publicised on Instagram, Substack, newsletter, etc. The December 2025 set was featured in the Irish Independent, which was lovely.
Full details below, thank you and good luck!
