One of my first notebooks had an open spine – blue cover and red stitching – and I still have it on my shelf. I like seeing the stitching but I wanted it to look clean and modern.
Wings was born out of this idea and playing around with pieces of paper left over from note sets (I reuse as much of the ‘scraps’ I can, either through design or padding in the orders sent out). The shape called to mind wings open wide, about to take off and I liked that idea because notebooks do give you wings to imagine, express, and take off.
And so a new style of A C H A R A notebook book was born: visual spine, coptic bound (with my twist on it), vivid colour combinations and clean lines.’ – Mundy
Each Wings Notebook is hand-bound, made and personalised, using local and sustainably sourced products as much as possible.
